Who’s Kukulkan?
The cult of Kukulkan/Quetzalcoatl was the first Mesoamerican religion to transcend the old Classic Period linguistic and ethnic divisions. This cult facilitated communication and peaceful trade among people of many different social and ethnic backgrounds. Although the cult was originally centered on the ancient city of Chichen Itza in the modern Mexican state of Yucatán, it spread as far as the Guatemalan highlands and northern Belize.
About Chelem
Chelem is a wonderful place to go for peace, serenity, and tranquility to help rebuilt relationships and bond with family and friends without the distractions of nightclubs, partying and constantly being hustled. It is a laid-back way of life of a bygone era with the amenities we all have come to love.
Our Location
We are located 3 blocks from Chelem. 35 miles from major city of Merida and 10 miles from seaport and town of Progreso. Small vans run every 20 minutes 2 blocks from house to take you to Progreso and Chuburna. From Progreso frequent buses to Merida. Uber is also available.
